Young Ambassadors
Every child hooked on sport for life is an aspiration for Sport Wales.
Young Ambassador Movement: A youth leadership movement aimed at developing the future leaders of Wales through sport, physical activity, and play. Young Ambassadors will use their role to inspire, influence, lead, and mentor within and across education and communities, to connect and support society be healthy and active.
The Sport and Health team will work alongside primary, secondary, collages and local communities to recruit, train and progress the Young Ambassadors through their progression pathway. The pathway will consist of the following -
- Bronze Young Ambassadors - Primary school (Year 5 & 6)
- Bronze+ Young Ambassadors - Comprehensive School (KS3, KS4)
- Silver Young Ambassador - Comprehensive School (SK3, KS4)
- Gold Young Ambassador - KS3, KS4 & Further Education
- Platinum Young Ambassador - KS4 & Further Education
Youth Sport Trust (Sport Wales) - Vision, Mission & Purpose
Vision: A youth leadership movement aimed at developing the future leaders of Wales through sport, physical activity, and play. Young Ambassadors will use their role inspire, influence, lead, and mentor within and across education and communities, to connect and support society be healthy and active.
Mission: Provide ongoing, person centred support for Young Ambassadors to develop as confident, motivated, and skilled young leaders. We want them to learn through leadership by providing positive and meaningful opportunities and experiences that will enhance their integral skills.
Purpose: Through cross-sector collaboration, collectively develop, support, and empower Young Ambassadors to facilitate activities, build belonging, tackle inequalities, and use the power of advocacy to help transform Wales to become a more active, healthier nation.
