National Exercise Referral Scheme in Swansea

The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) allows health professionals to refer inactive patients with a variety of medical conditions to a short- term, supervised programme of physical activity at a local venue.

Sports Funding

The main funding currently available for clubs and associations is the Be Active Wales Fund which is managed nationally by Sport Wales.

A great way to get involved in sport and to give something back to the local community.

Swansea leisure and sports centres

Swansea has numerous leisure and sport centres located across the city. All of our large sports and leisure centres are managed by our partner Freedom Leisure who offer a wide range of activities, facilities and membership options.

Lifeguard training

We run a number of Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) 8th Edition courses to equip people with the right skills to apply for jobs like pool lifeguards and leisure attendants.

Walking

Walkers are spoilt for choice in Swansea and Gower. There is everything from level promenades and parkland for an easy stroll to more strenuous hikes over beaches, moorland and through ancient woods.
