Elections and voting

The Electoral Services office oversees the running of Elections for the City and County of Swansea. They are also responsible for managing the Electoral Register.

We're contacting all households to make sure that the electoral register is up to date.
When you receive your letter, just follow the instructions so we know you're registered and ready to vote.


Voter ID - Application for a Voter Authority Certificate

From 4 May 2023, voters in Wales will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections.

The electoral register

The electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone who is registered to vote in public elections.

Student Electoral Registration

As a student, you can register at both your term time address and at the address you live at outside of term time.

The Commission is undertaking a Community Review of the Swansea Principal Council area.

2023 Parliamentary Review - Revised Proposals

The 2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies is conducted in accordance with the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986 (as amended).

Publication of Revised Register of Electors

The revised register will incorporate changes to ward boundaries and polling districts implemented in accordance with The City and County of Swansea (Electoral Arrangements) Order 2021.
