2011 Census

The 2011 Census was held on Sunday 27 March.

The 2011 Census in England and Wales was carried out by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).  Following extensive preparations over a number of years, detailed programmes were put in place to collect and process the information and deliver the census results. 

ONS published the first results from the 2011 Census on 16 July 2012, with further release phases, data and products following through to late 2014.
