Regeneration of Tudno Place and Heol Emrys

The aim of this project is to regenerate the estate in Penlan by modernising and refurbishing the current council properties, building more new social rented homes, and creating a safer community for everyone living there.

We have worked closely with consultants Powell Dobson Architects to create the masterplan for the site. A consultation event took place at Penlan Leisure Centre in October 2022, which gave residents an opportunity to give comments on the proposed plans. The current design has been developed taking into account comments made by residents.

The scheme will include renovation of the interior and exterior of all the council properties, including new kitchens and bathrooms and landscaping of the area, and creating a new play area. Alterations to properties may also include forming new window or door openings where feasible.

The refurbishment proposals for the estate are significant and the scope of the work will mean that the project will be divided in phases over a number of years.

Proposals include adding more homes to the site to increase levels of council housing in the Penlan area. The new-build properties will be in the later phases of the scheme, as work to refurbish the existing homes will be given priority.

We will provide a more detailed plan of how all the works will be delivered and approximate timescales to undertake the work after all refurbishment designs are competed.

We will keep residents informed throughout the process:
