Adopt a flower bed - terms and conditions

Location

The Parks Service will endeavour to accommodate the request for the adoption of a particular flower bed but reserves the right to relocate within the same open space if required.

Floral design

Our highly skilled landscape gardeners will design and plant the flower beds and use hardy plants depending on the seasons. Some parks and gardens will have flower beds of different shapes and sizes, and the standard charge will apply at these locations. The flower beds will remain the property of the council.

Vandalism and damage

The council will maintain the adopted flower beds and plaque in line with its standard maintenance schedules. In the unlikely event that the dedication plaque is damaged or stolen within 12 months of the installation then this shall be replaced at the council's expense.

Inscription

The inscription for the plaque can be up to a maximum of 120 characters and spaces on 4 rows.

Timescale

Once your application form and payment have been processed the council will arrange the necessary components and have the plaque inscribed, then arrange for installation. This will typically take approximately 8-12 weeks.
