It comes after a three-year break - and the awards event is due to take place in the grand surroundings of the Brangwyn Hall.

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: "It takes dedication, determination and much hard work to maintain high standards and, as a city of sport, we want to honour such skills and endeavour.

"We're pleased to be able to celebrate our champions in this way for the first time since 2020."

The event will recognise individuals, teams and clubs across 13 categories, with awards that will include inspiring young person, volunteer, community coach and performance coach.

Other categories include junior sportsman, junior sportswoman, school team, junior club or team and senior club or team.

Awards will also be presented for getting Swansea active and to the sportsperson of the year with a disability and to the sportsperson of the year.

The Swansea Sports Awards ceremony will take place on March 30 at the Brangwyn Hall in association with Freedom Leisure.

Nominations close December 31. Tickets on sale from January.
