Statistics on students in Swansea

The number of students enrolled at Swansea's higher and further education institutions.

summary (PDF) [272KB] is available showing the number of full-time and part-time students at each of Swansea's higher education (HE) and further education (FE) providers.  The data relates to the 2021-22 academic year.

The HE data is sourced from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Student Record and the Student Alternative Record.  It is published annually by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) following submission of data by HE providers to HESA.

The FE data includes information on post-16 learning collected through the Welsh Government's Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR). The data includes provision at Further Education (FE) institutions, Work-based Learning (WBL) providers and Adult Learning providers, but excludes enrolments at Higher Education institutions and at school sixth forms.

This data was published by HESA and Welsh Government during January and February 2023.  Further information about the data is included in the summary file.
