Rural Anchor
Successor project to the Rural Development Programme providing funding for rural community development, climate change and net zero based activities and rural business activities.
The Rural Anchor will be providing grant funding in Swansea's rural communities to:
- invest in small-scale renewable energy capital projects
- increase biodiversity through rural greening projects, community growing and re-utilising underused spaces
- support volunteering projects to engage different stakeholder in rural communities
- commission feasibility studies with costed plans to unlocking future funding support
- create rural markets and rural visitor trails, initiatives that would improve footfall on rural high streets
