Recycling electrical items
Do you have an electrical item you no longer want? Don't bin it, bring it!
Like most people, you probably recycle much of your household waste. But what about your old electricals? If they're broken or unwanted, do you leave them to gather dust in a loft or cupboard, or throw them away? Not many people realise that many of these items can be reused, repaired or recycled.
Has your laptop lost its chips? Is your toaster toast? Or maybe your power drill has ground to a halt?
We want all your unloved laptops, PCs, small kitchen appliances, electric gardening tools and old games consoles. Once received we will reuse, repair or recycle them.
Why do you want me to donate my electrical items to Swansea Council?
- Every electrical item you donate to us will firstly be carefully assessed to see if it's in working order. If possible it will be resold in Tip Treasures - reuse shop at our recycling centre in Llansamlet. All the money raised goes towards educational projects run by the recycling team.
- Any items that cannot be sold on or repaired will be broken down into individual components to be reused.
- If we cannot repair, reuse or sell your donated items, only then will we recycle them to make more new products.
