Artwork in mixed media [Tues, 2.00pm-4.00pm] - EN042450.RH

On this course you will be supported to make a collection of your own unique mixed media artwork, by being playful and exploring different mixed media techniques.

You will learn about various aspects of using mixed media to create artwork including working with paint, collage, oil pastels, markers and pens. Activities will include creating backgrounds and layers using different techniques and adding texture using recycled materials.

Elements of this course will include:

Creativity and wellbeing - spending time on a creative task is both a pleasure and a joy. It allows us to stop and take time out of our busy lives. It calms and relaxes us and provides opportunities to refocus; creativity engages our imagination and stimulates us. This weekly art class will provide an opportunity to appreciate the mixed media work of established artists and to create your own work within a supportive and friendly group.

Sessions will include:

• Classroom based learning.
• A topic taught using printed and online documents and resources.
• Challenges will be set by your tutor.
• Tutor feedback and class discussions.
