This workshop will help those that don't know their way around a camera and also enhance the skills of those that may already have some knowledge.
Our tutor will provide support to help each student get the best from their camera and gain confidence as a photographer.

Elements of the workshop will include:

  • Understanding the functions of all those symbols on the camera and what they do.
  • Effectively use composition to create a good photograph by applying simple techniques, framing, leading lines, rule of thirds, colour, form and lighting.
  • Select camera settings according to the subject being photographed: portraiture, landscape, sports or macro (close up photography).
  • Creating images of interest that will capture your viewer's attention.
  • During hands on sessions students will learn how to control and combine all different camera functions creatively.

 
Sessions will include:

  • Opportunity to experiment and put into practice camera functions and techniques covered in class with practical sessions out on location.
  • Field trips will be planned to take place during the course, these may be incorporate joining with another class so longer time can be spent on location.
  • Time will also be spent in the classroom enabling students to present their work for critique and feedback.
  • Students will be given assignment tutor feedback will be provided. This will provide an ideal opportunity to cultivate individual style, explore new subject matter and themes, producing images of interest and structure.
