Water efficiency

The water consumed by a property must be worked out and be no more than 125 litres per person per day.

Flow rates of taps will be reduced to prevent wastage. Water is an expensive commodity to produce; it uses energy to purify and also produces carbon dioxide in the process which is harmful to the environment.

The standards are set in Part G sanitation, hot water safety and water efficiency of the building regulations.
