Upper Bank cycle route
The Upper Bank cycle route provides a shared surface, traffic-free, cycle and pedestrian link from Jersey Road, Llansamlet to Nantong Way.
The route follows the line of the former Swansea Vale Railway Line, around the edge of Pluck Lake, and linking to Morfa Retail Park and beyond. The scheme offers upgraded links to the existing cycle network, including National Cycle Route 43 at Swansea.com Stadium.
The scheme was funded through Welsh Government Local Transport Fund and provides pedestrian and cycle links to Swansea Enterprise Park and residential settlements in the area. The route has been carefully aligned to preserve the flora and fauna within the site and the works have been developed with due consideration for the numerous rare Lichens and Bryophytes identified by ecologists.
The route adds to the list of family-friendly traffic-free cycle tracks within Swansea and highlights our commitment to encourage sustainable modes of transportation.
