Notice - temporary road closure, various locations, City Centre, Swansea

In order for Swansea Council Highways Improvements Section to undertake HRA resurfacing works at various City Centre locations.

Schedule 1 - temporary road closure, Kingsway, City Centre

Kingsway in a south westerly direction from its junction with College Street to its junction with B4290 St Helens Road/Dillwyn Street, a distance of approximately 500 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Dillwyn Street, West Way, A4067 Oystermouth Road, A4067 Victoria Road, A4067 Quay Parade, A483 New Cut Road, Plantasia, Strand, Welcome Lane and College Street, a distance of approximately 2.4 kilometres.

Schedule 2 - temporary road closures, Orchard Street, Alexandra Road and Bellevue Way, City Centre

Orchard Street, Alexandra Road and Bellevue Way junctions.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Dillwyn Street, West Way, A4067 Oystermouth Road, A4067 Victoria Road, A4067 Quay Parade, A483 New Cut Road B4603 Bridge Street and A4118 Dyfatty Street, a distance of approximately 3.2 kilometres.

No access/egress to/from Kingsway whilst works are underway at its junction with:

  • Craddock Street
  • Christina Street
  • Dynevor Place
  • Portland Street
  • Park Street

Access for emergency vehicles to be maintained at all times.

Saturday 10 July 2021For 17 months 9 days, extending an existing Notice dated 17 June 2021. It is anticipated the closure will last for 17 months and 9 days. The effect of this closure will be made permanent by a further Order.

Notice - temporary road closure, Waun Wen Road (part), Mayhill

For safety reasons, Swansea Council has deemed it to be necessary to temporarily close the above road to vehicular traffic.

Schedule

Waun Wen Road in a south easterly direction from its junction with Long Ridge to its junction with High View a distance of approximately 35 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Waun Wen Road, Granogwen Road, Townhill Road, Gors Avenue, A483 Carmarthen Road and the unaffected section of Waun Wen Road, a distance of approximately 1.8 kilometres.

Access for pedestrians to be maintained at all times.

In order for Swansea Council Engineering Team to undertake plateau construction works.

Schedule

Pentregethin Road in a northerly direction from its junction with A483 Carmarthen Road to its junction with Middle Road a distance of approximately 50 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via A483 Carmarthen Road, Approach Road, Manselton Road, St John's Road and the unaffected section of Pentregethin Road, a distance of approximately 2.1 kilometres.

Access for emergency vehicles to be maintained at all times.

Brynfield Road in a north westerly direction from its junction with Langland Bay Road to its junction with Whiteshell Drive/Langland Court Road, a distance of approximately 250 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Brynfield Road, B4593 Caswell Road, B4593 Southward Lane and Langland Bay Road, a distance of approximately 1.7 kilometres.
