Temporary road closures

Temporary road closures for road works or for the avoidance of danger to the public.

These may last for 1 day and up to 18 months, with extensions available in certain circumstances.

In the interests of public safety, it will be necessary to temporarily close the lane that runs between Orchard Street and the B4489 High Street to pedestrian footfall and to revoke parking on B4489 High Street to vehicular traffic.

The closure is required in order for WRW Construction Limited to safely undertake building works on Oldway House.

Stepney Street

In order for Jehu Project Services to safely undertake building works on Stepney Street, it will be necessary to temporarily reverse the driving order, prohibit pedestrian footfall and revoke parking at the above location.

SCHEDULE 1 - REVERSAL OF DRIVING ORDER & PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Stepney Street in a south-westerly direction from property number 35 to its junction with Highbury Close, a distance of approximately 100 metres.

The alternative route for pedestrian footfall will be via the unaffected section of Stepney Street, Fern Street, Lynn Street and the unaffected section of Stepney Street, a distance of approximately 350 metres.

SCHEDULE 2  - REVOCATION OF PARKING

Revocation of parking in a south-westerly direction outside properties 33 & 34 and form the junction of Highbury Close to Fern Street, a total distance of approximately 120 metres.

For 5 days (or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner). It is anticipated the work will take 3 days to complete.

Notice - Temporary road closure, Elphin Cresent, Townhill, Swansea

In order for City and County of Swansea Council, Planned Maintenance Section to undertake PATCH resurfacing works at the above location, it will be necessary to temporarily close the above road to vehicular traffic.

Schedule - Temporary road closure Elphin Crescent, Townhill

Elphin Crescent in a north-easterly direction from its junction with Graiglwyd Road to its junction with Gwynedd Avenue, a distance of approximately 270 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Graiglwyd Road, Lon Teify and Gwynedd Avenue, a distance of approximately 430 metres.

Similarly this route will operate in the reverse direction.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians to be maintained at all times.

Heol y Mynydd and Ammanford Road Garnswllt

Heol Y Mynydd from outside Cerdinen in an Easterly direction for a distance of approximately 5 kilometres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic is Garnswllt Road, Glynhir Road, Alltiago  Road, A48 Bolgoed Road, A48 Bryntirion Road, Clodir Road, Bryn Bach Road and the unnamed Y859 (known locally as Ammanford Road), a distance of approximately 15.5km

Similarly this route will operate in the reverse direction.

Heol Glyn Dyfal

From its Junction with Y859 (known locally as Ammanford Road) in a southerly direction to its junction with Heol Pantyffa, a distance of approximately 1.5 kilometres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Heol Pantyffa and the Y859 (known locally as Ammanford Road).

Similarly this route will operate in the reverse direction.

For 5 nights (or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner). It is anticipated the work will take 1 night (19:00 - 07:00) to complete.

Notice - Temporary road closures A483 Carmarthen Road (part) and A4118 Dyfatty Street (part), Swansea

In order for Swansea Council, Planned Maintenance Section to undertake resurfing works on behalf of Swansea Council Traffic Section at the above locations.

Schedule 1 - Temporary road closure A4118 Dyfatty Street (part), City

A4118 Dyfatty Street in a north-easterly direction from its junction with B4290 Alexandra Road to its junction with A483 Carmarthen Road, a distance of approximately 930 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via B4290 Alexandra Road, B4489 High Street and A4118 Dyfatty Street in a southerly direction, a distance of approximately 1.2 kilometres.

No exit into A4118 Dyfatty Street from North Hill Road.

No left turn from Graig Street into A4118 Dyfatty Street.

Schedule 2 - Temporary road closure A483 Carmarthen Road (part), City

A483 Carmarthen Road in a north-westerly direction from its junction with A4118 Dyfatty Street to its junction with Heol-Y-Gors / Approach Road, a distance of approximately 650 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via B4603 Bridge Street, B4489 Llangyfelach Street, B4489 Llangyfelach Road, Penfilia Road, St Johns Road, Pentregethin Road and A483 Carmarthen Road in a south-easterly direction, a distance of approximately 4.5 kilometres.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians to be maintained at all times.

Due to the expected crowds of people who are likely to frequent the various licensed premises on the below dates for the Bank Holiday period, it is considered necessary, following consultation with the police, to extend the existing closure to vehicles on Wind Street and part of Castle Square to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
