Diversion routes

Houses on seafront side of Mumbles Road from Blackpill to Mumbles:

Due to concerns for the safety of participants, residents along Mumbles Road (south sea facing side) will be unable to gain vehicle entry onto this road between approximately 10:30pm and 1:30pm. The sheer volume of runners on the road at this approximate time would in any case prevent vehicle access. (Access for emergency vehicles will however be maintained at all times).

Vehicles travelling to the City Centre from Mumbles and Fairwood Road:

Vehicles which require access to the Mumbles Road from a Northerly direction between approximately 10:30pm and 1:30pm will be unable to turn right towards Mumbles. It should, however, be possible for vehicles to access Mumbles Road from a northerly direction to turn left towards the City Centre although an extra diversion will be in place as per last year.

For any traffic attempting to travel eastwards and joining Mumbles Road between Norton Road and the junction of Fairwood Road and Mumbles Road, these vehicles will be diverted left up Fairwood Road and at the junction of Fairwood Road and Mayals Road they will be diverted right down Mayals Road.

For any traffic attempting to travel eastwards and joining East of Norton Road they will be diverted left up Norton Road, right on to West Cross Avenue, right on to West Cross Lane, left up Fairwood Road and then right on to Mayals Road. These diversions will be in place from approximately 10:30pm - 1:30pm.

Road users travelling to City Centre between Fairwood Road and Ashleigh Road (eastbound side of carriageway):

In effect this will create a sterile area between the Fairwood Road Junction and Mumbles Road and the Mayals Road Junction from approximately 10.30pm until the last runner reaches the Fairwood Road Junction (approximately 13.15pm). For this relatively short period of time therefore, vehicles (apart from emergency vehicles) will be unable to gain entry onto Mumbles Road.

Parking restrictions

07:00 - 16:00

  • Parking prohibitions; No Waiting Order and Tow away Order on the entire route
  • Bryn Rd - No Waiting Order, no parking cones and Tow away Order

Access for emergency vehicles however will be maintained at all times
