Plantasia will be closed from 7 January 2019 for maintenance / improvement works and will be unable to host school visits during this period.

Alternatively we are able to offer our outreach service to interested parties, schools and event hosts:

Pop-up Stand

This entails Plantasia staff displaying a variety of animals which can be handled by attendees. This stand is suitable for events such as fairs or one day events.

Mini-beasts Workshop

This is usually delivered to smaller groups and classes. We discuss a variety of small animals including cockroaches, snails, tortoise, geckos and snakes. Participants have the opportunity to handle and learn about the animals on display.

Rainforest Animals

Sessions are delivered with an emphasis on the structure of the rainforest layers and which animals occupy each. The session includes discussion on species of fauna and flora, how they each interact, and also any human exploitation they may encounter. For visual and tactile learners we provide live examples of rainforest animals and pupils (and teachers) will even have the opportunity to hold some of them.

How to Book

Booking possibilities are limited during this period but please feel free to contact Mike Colwill on Michael.Colwill@swansea.gov.uk or 01792 474555 for more information.
