Be patient the process takes up to four months to take effect. You will continue to get mail from companies that you have previously done business with. If you want to be removed from their mailing lists you will need to contact them directly. If you have to give your name and address to a company and you don't want to be added to their mailing list, check the small print. There is usually a box you can tick to indicate that you do not want to be added to their mailing list.

Sign up for paper-less bills

Many organisations such as banks and utility companies will give you the option to view bills online or via email and you can opt out of receiving paper statements. In order to do this you will need to contact the companies you deal with directly.
