Kings Road SA1 exitExit from Kings Road onto Fabian Way to be restricted to bus services only. This will be controlled by camera monitoring with automatic penalty charging. All other SA1 development traffic would be able to exit the area from the Fabian Way / Langdon Road junction. All traffic entering SA1 from the Kings Road entrance will be unaffected from the changes. Implementation not yet programmed.

A483 Pontarddulais Road / Ffordd Cynore upgradeThis junction has become a source of increasing congestion as a consequence of general increases in traffic, as well as substantial development in adjacent areas. Improvements to the junction will seek to serve greater throughput of traffic and will likely include changes to improve the management of telematics and improvements to off-slips which could allow movements which are not managed by traffic signals. Grade separated solutions may also be considered in the longer term.
A484 Roundabouts improvementsCapacity improvements at junctions along the A484 including dedicated slip lanes and telematics installations where appropriate.
B4296 Gorseinon to Pontarddulais enhancementCapacity improvements to accommodate projected population growth in Pontarddulais. Localised widening and telematics improvements expected.
B4296 Victoria Road capacity upgradeLocalised widening and telematics improvements in order to deliver capacity improvements.
Baldwins Bridge capacity improvementsProposed possible grade-separated structure to cater for local development and traffic growth. Not yet designed or funded.

Bryntywood roundabout (junction 46) upgradeA scheme to promote improved connectivity to and from Bryntywood to M4 junction 46 in order to promote connectivity to the Felindre Strategic Business Park and small industrial park in Bryntywood.
Carmarthen Road to M4 junction 46 linkProposed capacity and connectivity improvements. A significant enhancement to provide road connectivity in order to facilitate non-city bound traffic to use alternative routes out of the county area, for the benefit of City Centre development and growth. It is proposed to integrate into a 1200 unit housing development by Llanmoor homes on land between Penplas Road and Swansea Road, Llangyfelach. Not yet funded or programmed.
Cross Valley link roundabout capacity improvementsProposed capacity improvements to alleviate peak hour congestion. Not yet designed or funded.
Crymlyn Road improvementEnhancement of the carriageway to allow better throughput of vehicles into Swansea from Skewen, Neath and Birchgrove to reduce the impact of these journeys on strategic highways and junctions. Not yet funded or programmed.
Dyfatty junction capacity improvementsProposed possible grade-separated solutions to preserve and promote unobstructed throughput of traffic. This scheme is an aspiration. It is not funded and unlikely to proceed in the short to medium term.
Fabian Way corridorThis is a large multi-element scheme to improve connectivity along this corridor which is a strategic development site. The overall scheme will deliver the outcomes of the Fabian Way Transport Assessment which was developed by the Welsh Government and endorsed by both Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and the City and County of Swansea.
Felindre Strategic Business Park northern roads improvementImprovements to accommodate greater levels of traffic generated by new development being established at the Felindre Strategic Business Park and a possible large residential development adjacent to it (subject to LDP approval).
Fforestfach Cross capacity improvementsProposed capacity improvements to alleviate peak hour congestion. Not yet designed and extent of works unknown.
Glais to Birchgrove linkA shared use path to be constructed between the communities of Glais and Birchgrove to promote active travel and deliver a safe walking route to school.

Landore Park and Ride extensionProposed extension of existing site into the adjacent overflow car park.

M4 junctions park and share sitesA scheme to provide a permanent facility for park and share users adjacent to the M4 corridor and to replace the temporary facility shared with the DVLA on the Felindre Strategic Business Park. Not yet funded or programmed.
Mayals Road Clyne Common footway schemeProposed shared use footpath across south side of Clyne Common between the communities of Mayals and Bishopston to promote active travel and deliver a 'safer routes to school'. It is not currently programmed or funded.
Mill Lane footway schemeProposed construction of new footway on north side from Mumbles Road to Mill Gardens by scheme or local development.
Mill Street / Gorwydd Road / Victoria Road capacity improvementsProposed capacity improvements to alleviate peak hour congestion and strategic movements for North Gower. Not yet designed or funded.
Mumbles Road / Fairwood Road junction improvementsEnhancement to improve the management of telematics at this busy junction. Possible changes to allow dedicated turning lanes also to be investigated. Not yet designed or funded.

Pedestrian and cycle crossing on Fabian WayInfrastructure to promote connectivity across Fabian Way between the communities of St Thomas / Port Tennant and the SA1 Waterfront development. This infrastructure will be a mix of at-grade and grade separated interventions. Not yet designed or funded.
Peniel Green roundabout (junction 44) upgradeCapacity improvements to accommodate greater flow of motor vehicle traffic. It is expected that this will be in the form of telematics enhancements and associated management systems. Not yet designed or funded.
Pont y Cob Road enhancementThis road forms an invaluable resilience link for motor traffic if problems occur on the adjacent strategic highway network. Capacity improvements to this road could serve to relieve pressure on the busy junctions and highways in the areas, particularly for traffic travelling to and from north Gower via Gowerton to Gorseinon, Loughor and destinations to the west. This road forms the only on-road section of the National Cycle Network route 4 in the City and County of Swansea and an off-road provision would provide a significant betterment. Not yet designed or funded.
Sketty Cross capacity improvementsProposed capacity improvements to resolve peak hour congestion and ensure the general enhancement of vehicle flow. Not yet designed or funded.
Sketty Lane to Bay Campus linkA walking and cycling link to principally promote travel between the Bay Campus, City Centre and Singleton Campus, but also for the general betterment of the National Cycle Network Route 4 which also follows this alignment. Not yet designed or funded.

Swansea Vale park and ride siteA scheme to establish a park and share/park and ride site in Swansea Vale adjacent to the Swansea Vale Spine Road. The park and ride functions will primarily serve the Swansea.com Stadium and local businesses in the Enterprise Park. A preferred site has been identified and is in council ownership. Not yet designed or funded.
Swansea Vale Spine Road improvementsEnhancements to promote the throughput of signals on this important distributor road. Localised widening and telematics interventions at congestion hotspots may be required. Not yet designed or funded.
Swansea Valley to City Centre bus corridorA series of enhancements on the Swansea Valley to Swansea bus route which will serve to promote journey time reliability, improved travel times and passenger waiting facilities (from the Mond, Clydach to Prince of Wales Road - 9km) short term scheme 2015-2020. Not yet designed or funded.
Swansea - Carmarthen bus corridor schemeA series of enhancements on the Carmarthen to Swansea bus route which will serve to promote journey time reliability, improved travel times and passenger waiting facilities. Short term scheme 2015-2020. Not yet designed or funded.
West park and rideProposed public transport enhancement scheme. A new park and ride site and bus priority measures to improve public transport connectivity to the City Centre and Mumbles. Not yet designed or funded.
Woodlands footway schemeProposed widening with footway, lay-bys and passing places. Scheme is not currently funded or programmed.

Gorseinon to Morriston via Penllergaer cycle routeA dedicated cycle route to provide connectivity between Gorseinon and Morriston via Penllergaer and Llangyfelach. This route is expected to be off-road and traffic-free and likely to follow the alignment of the A48 as far as possible. LTP long term 2020-2030 programme.
Gowerton to Fforestfach cycle routeA dedicated cycle route to provide connectivity between Gowerton and Fforestfach. LTP long term 2020-2030 programme.
Kingsbridge cycle linkThis scheme would deliver a missing link in the cycle network between Gowerton and Kingsbridge crossing Stafford Common using a former railway alignment. Currently undergoing design.
Middle Road to High Street Station cycle routeA dedicated cycle route to provide connectivity between Fforestfach and High Street Station. LTP long term 2020-2030 programme.
Penllergaer to Fforestfach cycle routeA dedicated cycle route to provide connectivity between Penllergaer and Fforestfach. LTP long term 2020-2030 programme.
Tawe Riverside cycle routeA scheme to establish an off-road, traffic free route along the western bank of the River Tawe between Tawe Bridges and White Rock. This will take advantage of the development of this river bank over the coming years and complement the provision on the eastern river bank. LTP long term 2020-2030 programme.
