What gives you most pleasure in this role?

The finished product - and being part of a team that can transform a tired building into something fresh and modern.

Nigel Hawkins - Projects and procurement manager

I have financial control of projects from inception to completion.

How the role most benefits the public

On this project I will ensure that the children attending the school will have an up to date, state of the art building in which to learn.

What gives you most pleasure in this role?

I really enjoy being involved in the whole construction process, from early sketch designs of a building to seeing it being constructed, completed and handed over to the end user.

Sarah Rees - School project planning and implementation officer

I support the school project business case development managers in delivering their projects. We ensure ongoing development and refurbishment of schools meets Welsh Government 21st Century School standards.

What gives you most pleasure in this role?

Seeing the pleasure both pupils and staff have when they see their new school classrooms and learning areas.

Sarah Weir - School project business case development manager

Key function

The delivery of major education projects for the Quality in Education programme, which is a strategic outcome for the council.

How the role most benefits the public

Managing education projects across Swansea which enable schools to provide 21st Century teaching and learning facilities.

What gives you most pleasure in this role

I love working with people, so being able to work with pupils and teachers helping them to achieve the best they can from the project is really rewarding.
