The latest official estimate of the population of the City and County of Swansea is 241,300 (mid-year estimate 2022, Office for National Statistics). 

These are the second annual mid-year population estimates published by ONS since the 2021 Census.  They represent a rolled forward estimate to 30 June 2022 from the mid-2021 figure, accounting for births, deaths and estimated migration changes over the year.  The latest estimate is approx. 3,400 (+1.4%) higher than the mid-2021 figure.
