Swansea and Gower local access forum
The purpose of the local access forum is to provide a platform to advise and discuss the improvement and management of public access to the countryside in the area.
The forum is currently in the process of re-forming and is open to new members. Anyone who has an interest in countryside access and is interested in applying to become a member of the forum should contact Chris Dale: chris.dale@swansea.gov.uk / Countryside Access, Civic Centre, Swansea SA1 3SN

Swansea and Gower offer some of the best coastal and countryside landscapes in Wales and we want to make sure we provide the best access for our residents and visitors.
The forum is a place for discussions and debates about recreational access of all types including walking, horse-riding, and cycling.
The outcomes of the forums will inform us and other organisations such as National Resources Wales on how we can improve public access to the countryside for the purposes of open-air recreation and the enjoyment of the area.
Interested in getting involved?
Members are selected because of their ability, through knowledge and experience, to represent the interests of at least one group of access users, land managers and owners, or other issues relevant to access such as conservation or tourism. Members sit as individuals, rather than as representatives of any specified organisation.
Members of the public are welcome to observe at all meetings of the forum.
If you have any issues for consideration or if you would like to become a member please contact us.

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 requires each local authority to provide a local access forum and every few years we are required to abolish the existing forum and set up a new one. Existing members can reapply.
