Lifelong Learning - Refund policy

The Lifelong Learning Service strives to ensure equality and fairness for all learners. We actively promote participation by all members of the community.

Our quality standards set out a minimum number of students required to attend to make a class viable. If numbers should fall below this level we retain the right to merge classes with other groups, or if this is not possible to close the course.

In applying our refunds policy for students who wish to withdraw, the service has a duty to consider course viability and commitments to students who reasonably expect their course to continue for the full duration.

A full refund of the course fee will be given on request only if:

  • a course is cancelled by the service, or
  • the course venue, day, time or mode of delivery is changed by the service.

A refund of the course fee, less a £15 administration charge, will only be given if:

  • a refund request is made at least 14 days prior to the start date of the course and the resultant space is filled from the course waiting list.

Refunds will not be given in any other circumstances.

All refunds will be made by BACS. Name of bank account, sort code and account number are required for this process.

Any refund request submitted will be responded to within four weeks of receipt.
