Fees and payment

Courses will not be confirmed until we receive your payment for course fees in full.

Course fees

Fees for our RLSS NPLQ lifeguard training courses are:

  • Standard fee: £320.00
  • Concessionary fee (inc. students in full time education): £250.00
  • Passport to Leisure fee: £160.00

The above fees are inclusive of an RLSS candidate pack and the initial assessment fee. Should you fail the initial assessment, you may sit a re-assessment which would be charged as an additional cost to you.

Payment of fees

You can pay over the phone by credit/debit card and we recommend this process to confirm your places immediately.

Payment is also accepted by cheque. Please make cheques payable to "City & County of Swansea". We will not, however, be able to confirm your place on a course until we receive the cheque and we cannot accept responsibility for any postal delays or otherwise.

If you are eligible for a discounted fee, we can accept payment for the reduced fee on application, but you must provide proof of your eligibility for the concession within 14 days of payment. Failure to produce proof of eligibility will result in the increase of cost to the standard fee.

Concession fee proof required:

  • valid NUS card
  • letter from school or college

Passport To Leisure (PTL):

  • valid PTL number
