New library management system for Swansea Libraries - now live

Swansea Libraries has changed to a new library management system.

Customers are able to borrow, return, renew and request books and other items in person or over the phone.

The new library portal and online catalogue is now available here: Library portal (opens new window)

You can use this link to log into and manage your library account online, renew and request items and access digital services and online resources.

Please remember to renew your library books to avoid receiving an overdue charge. You can do this by visiting the online portal or phoning or visiting a library. SMS and email reminders are not yet up and running in our new library system - this is being investigated.

Anybody can join the library in person but unfortunately online registrations via the library portal are still unavailable until further notice.

The self-service machines at Central Library are now available.

A new library app will be launched later in 2025.

Customers can continue to use library wifi and PCs as usual.

Data protection for customer records is covered by necessary and appropriate data protection agreements and system security protocols. The new system service provider works with library authorities across Wales, in much the same way as the previous supplier.

Statements on how your data is safeguarded will be made available to customers once the new system is fully implemented. Swansea Council's privacy notice can be found here: Privacy notice

Library staff are very happy to help where we can with any queries customers might have about this changeover:

The library service is grateful to customers for their patience and cooperation during this change. We will continue to update the information on this page until the changeover is fully completed.
