Who we can help and advise about homelessness

Everyone can get housing advice from us.

We will ask about your housing situation to find out what help we can give you. Each person's needs is different and the enquiries and assistance we provide will depend on your circumstances.

You could be homeless if you:

  • are sleeping rough or do not have 'a roof over your head'
  • are at risk of violence or abuse where you are living, from a partner, ex-partner or family member, or someone near where you live
  • cannot afford to stay where you are living
  • are in very temporary accommodation
  • are staying with friends or 'sofa surfing'
  • have been illegally evicted
  • are in accommodation that is in very poor condition or is dangerous
  • have nowhere to put your houseboat or caravan
