Lifelong Learning - Guitar playing for intermediate to advanced

Develop your skills and style in guitar playing with Keith Morgan.

This course is suitable for students with a reasonable knowledge of music or guitar. Students will usually have attended the intermediate class prior to attending this course.

You will be expected to know a range of simple chords including bar chords. We will explore intervals and how chords are made up, for example, E, Em, E7, EMaj7, Em7, E6, Esus4, E9, E11, E13 etc. We will follow simple to complex song sheets using guitar chord boxes and sometimes Tab. We will explore some simple melody lines. We will also improve on our strumming patterns and rhythms.

Students will receive pre-recorded online sessions, created by our experienced teacher and designed for students who wish to gain some basic guitar playing skills. Each video will be followed by live feedback and practice sessions.

Sessions will include:

  • Weekly pre-recorded videos followed by live online group sessions.
  • Song sheets will be provided to play along to.
  • Additional worksheets and handouts.
  • Live question and answer sessions.
  • Opportunities to play what you have been taught within a live virtual classroom for feedback and guidance from your tutor.

Your tutor will also provide regular discussion opportunities via the Google Classroom stream.

Start date:

Monday 26 April 2021.

Live sessions on Mondays from 6.30pm - 7.00pm.


This 10 week online course will include live and pre-recorded sessions, printable song sheets and handouts, assignments and links to useful websites and apps.

Lessons will be provided via Google Classrooms. A video tutorial will be provided to help students access Google Classrooms.
