Lifelong Learning - Guitar playing for beginners to intermediate

Gain confidence and improve your guitar playing skills with Keith Morgan.

A course suitable for students with a previous knowledge of music or guitar, but wish to improve their skills. Students will be expected to know a range of simple chords, for example, C, D, G, E, A, Am, Em, Dm and F.

This term we will progress from F to some simple bar chords. We will follow simple song sheets using guitar chord boxes and sometimes Tab. We will improve on simple strumming patterns and following a beat.

Students will receive pre-recorded online sessions, created by our experienced teacher and designed for students who wish to gain some basic guitar playing skills. Each video will be followed by live feedback and practice sessions.

Sessions will include:

  • Weekly pre-recorded videos followed by live online group sessions.
  • Song sheets will be provided to play along to.
  • Additional worksheets and handouts.
  • Live question and answer sessions.
  • Opportunities to play what you have been taught within a live virtual classroom for feedback and guidance from your tutor.

Your tutor will also provide regular discussion opportunities via the Google Classroom stream.

Start date:

Tuesday 27 April 2021.

Live sessions on Tuesdays from 6.00pm - 6.30pm.

This 10 week online course will include live and pre-recorded sessions, printable song sheets and handouts, assignments and links to useful websites and apps.

Lessons will be provided via Google Classrooms. A video tutorial will be provided to help students access Google Classrooms.
