Coronavirus staff update - 4 December 2020

Setting up a workspace at home, plus a scam warning.

The pandemic has required many employees to work from home, which has meant having to work with a different Display Screen Equipment (DSE) set-up to the one they are normally used to.

We recognised that some employees do not have access to an office desk and may be working at the dining room table; on the sofa in the living room or working at a small table in the corner of a bedroom.

No matter what your DSE set up is, by making small adjustments to the way you work can help in keeping you safe and healthy.  The HSE have produced a useful visual guide which gives practical advice on setting up a work space at home which you may find helpful. You can find it here:  PDF Document Guide to setting up a work space at home (PDF, 913KB)Opens new window

Scam emails

We've been advised of scam emails being shared with staff claiming to be from others working for the council.

This is a reminder that you should be vigilant and check that emails purporting to be from a councillor or another member of staff are not from fake addresses. Emails from councillors or staff using the internal Exchange server will always have the style firstname.lastname@swansea.gov.uk
