Get creative using IT (free course)

Working with various forms of Digital Media, developing organised storage and media management systems, as well as producing a basic digital media project.

Computers and tablets continue to expand our abilities to be creative. Videos, photographs, audio and music recordings, and digital images, can all be created or manipulated using a home computer to produce some very impressive results. For those who want to be more creative, computers can be a powerful tool to help us bring our imaginations to life.

This 10 week course will help you understand manipulate and organise your digital media. It will take you through the process of creating your own basic multimedia project, using video, audio and digital images.

Course content includes:

  • Types of digital media and media manipulation software
  • Organising your media
  • Converting between media formats
  • Creating and manipulating photographs, videos and audio
  • Creating a website using online website creation services
  • Producing a multimedia project

Who is it suitable for?

This course is suitable for those who are familiar with using computers and software packages, and wish to increase their creativity with digital software and multimedia.

10 week course. The first week will involve an information, advice and guidance session to consider course and workshop choices and their suitability to meeting learner needs.

What will you need?

Computers will be available for this course. You will benefit from bringing your own memory stick and you may require recordable DVDs later in the course, depending on your choice for project work.

This course is free to attend but learners must enrol to secure a place in advance.
