Garment making: beginner - intermediate

The course covers skills to tackle a range of projects for basic garment making with use of commercial patterns. Learn about fabrics, cutting and sewing techniques.

This is a class where you will work on your own project with guidance from the tutor.

Students will get a chance to learn the skills needed eg use of cutting equipment, using a sewing machine and overlocker as well as hand sewing. Students cannot use their own machines, due to health and safety issues. They will be provided by the centre.

Embellish garments with handmade decoration and trimmings using a variety of materials and techniques, including up-cycling some of your old tired fabrics.

The class caters for mixed ability from beginners to learners with some experience. The class is facilitated in a workshop style.
