Important collection service change: From Monday 30 March, residents will need to ensure that waste/recycling is out on the kerbside for collection from 6.00am. This is a temporary measure during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Coronavirus and waste collections update

Garden waste collection

You can use the reusable white bags for your garden waste. We will collect it on your green week.

Garden waste

Garden waste bags are available to purchase from libraries and housing offices for £2 each.

To ensure your bags are collected for recycling:

  • Only use the bags that are provided by us
  • Put your bags out for collection after 7.00pm on the evening before your collection and before 7.00am on the morning of your collection day
  • Don't put out more than 10 garden bags per collection
  • Make sure your bag is not too heavy (under 15kg)
  • Prevent your bags going astray by writing your house number on them
  • Use our recycling and rubbish collection search to find out what day we collect your bags

Once collected, these materials are shredded and composted. This soil enhancer is available to collect free of charge from Tir John Recycling Centre, Danygraig Road at St Thomas throughout the year.
