European Structural and Investment Funds 2014-2020

Supporting people into work and training, youth employment, research and innovation, business competitiveness, renewable energy, connectivity and urban development.

West, North Wales and the Valleys will benefit from approx. £1.8 billion under the European Structural and Investment Funds. This will be split between the following two funds:

European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

  • Investment in research and innovation 
  • Small and medium enterprise competitiveness
  • Renewable energy and efficiency  
  • Connectivity and urban development 

European Social Fund (ESF) 

  • Tackling poverty through sustainable employment 
  • Skills for growth 
  • Youth employment and attainment
