Download free eMagazines to your computer, tablet and phone with RBdigital magazines for libraries.

There are over 2,400 subscription magazines such as The Economist, Newsweek, Us Weekly, and Rolling Stone and bookazines along with 1,990 single/special collectors' issues.

If you are a member of Swansea Libraries you automatically have access to our eMagazine service, RBdigital magazine for Libraries.

Important information about the eMagazines service:

  • RBdigital magazines allows you to browse from our collection of popular titles with no holds, no checkout periods, and no limit to the number of magazines you can download.
  • You may add as many titles as you like from our RBdigital magazine collection page - they will remain in your Reading List until you choose to delete them.
  • You can also download the RBdigital mobile apps (available for Apple, Android and Kindle Fire systems) from your app store to download and read your selected titles offline and on the go!


Borrowing magazines from RBdigital Magazine

Unfortunately you can't browse the full RBdigital magazinesOpens new window library without signing up for an account or logging in.

  • The first time you use RBdigital to borrow eMagazines you should create an account. You will need to enter your library card number and set a username and password. You will need your username and password each time you login to download eMagazines.
  • Select the genre of magazine you want in the top right to view titles by theme, or just browse through each page until you find a title you are interested in.
  • To search for a title you can use the search box in the top left hand corner.
  • To checkout an item you can use the checkout now icon at the bottom of each magazine image. The checkout now icon looks like a pile of papers with a + sign. To view back issues of a title simply click on the eMagazine image.
  • After you have borrowed a title, click on the download button. If you get a pop-up with options to Open, Run or Save your loan when you download, make sure that you select Save, otherwise the eBook will not save to your computer properly.
  • There are no checkout limits so you can borrow as many magazines as you would like for as long as you would like.
  • If you are interested in when the next issue of a magazine is available you can set up email alert on the checkout page. 

If you are reading your magazine on a PC or Mac or mobile device through the browser (eg Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari etc) you will not need any additional software. There are apps for iPad/iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire if you'd prefer.
