Dog breeders

If you breed dogs and then sell the puppies you are running a dog breeding business. If you are already breeding or plan to in the future you will need a licence from us.

Before we issue the licence an officer from the council will inspect the premises to make sure the animals will be suitably accommodated, fed, exercised and protected from disease and fire.  We may also ask a veterinary surgeon to accompany us. You need to make sure you have planning permission for any buildings before applying to us.
