Community volunteers

Many wonderful people want to volunteer in their communities to help support our most vulnerable residents.

The people of Swansea have stepped up to the plate to help support the most vulnerable in communities to keep them safe and supported, but we need more people to come forward during this difficult situation.

Formal volunteering with SCVS

Those who able to help out can sign-up by going online to Swansea Council for Volunteering Service (SCVS) which is co-ordinating the volunteering recruitment campaign locally.

Informal community volunteering

Local Area Co-ordinators (LAC) are supporting local communities by taking the details of those in need of support and putting them in touch with volunteers who can help.

LAC cannot do shopping for people as they need to do their essential co-ordinating work. If you would like to volunteer to help a neighbour in this way, contact details for your nearest LACs can be found at

We'll take every precaution necessary to avoid circumstances where the virus can be passed on and we are practicing social distancing measures, to safeguard the public health of volunteers and vulnerable residents being supported.

Volunteering activities will strictly comply with the up-to-date public health instructions advised by the Government.
