Christmas recycling

How to recycle your Christmas waste.

Plain Christmas cards can be recycled in your green bags with paper and card as long as any non-paper parts are removed first. We cannot recycle any cards with glitter or electronics so please place these in your black bags only.

Wrapping paper cannot be recycled because it contains non-paper additives, and is often covered in sellotape and ribbon. Please place any used paper in your black bags only.

Real Christmas trees can be chopped up to fit in your garden waste bags as long as they're not too heavy or taken to your local recycling centre to place in the garden waste skip.

Food waste including turkey carcasses, plate scrapings, vegetable peelings and more can all be recycled in the food waste bin.

Black bags can be disposed of at Llansamlet and Clyne recycling centres as long as there are no recyclable materials inside.
