Constituency area profiles

Statistical profiles of the three constituency areas in Swansea.

Parliamentary Constituencies are the areas used to elect Members of Parliament (MPs) to the UK Parliament in London, and Members of the Senedd (MS) to the Welsh Parliament in Cardiff.  At the UK General Election of 2019 and Senedd Cymru election of 2021, there were 40 areas in Wales, of which three were within the Swansea area - Gower, Swansea East and Swansea West.

Statistical profiles of these constituency areas have been developed, based on our ward profile format.  The data included are the published constituency statistics for an area, alongside a comparator figure for Swansea and Wales, together with contextual and mapping information.

Profiles are available for the local Senedd Cymru constituency areas (June 2024):

The Senedd Cymru constituency areas are not currently subject to change.  However, the boundaries of the UK Parliamentary constituency areas changed for the General Election in July 2024.  We will look to develop profiles based on the new UK Parliamentary constituency areas as soon as possible.
