Byelaws

Byelaws are created by the Council to deal effectively with issues within its area.

The Local Government Act 1972 allows the Council to make and enforce the byelaws. Breaching a byelaw is a criminal offence, which may lead to prosecution in the Magistrates' Court, or in some cases, the offender maybe issued with a fixed penalty notice.
