Child protection / safeguarding awareness training - level 2 (multi-agency)
This one day course is essential (and mandatory training in some settings) for anyone whose work brings them into contact with children through a variety of roles.
Course aim
- Revisit the codes of professional practice.
- Consider what abuse and neglect are.
- Understand the difference between the terms 'safeguarding' and 'child protection'.
- Consider the laws regarding children in need of protection.
- Who abuses children?
- Name and define the categories of abuse (Spot it).
- Know how to respond should a child make an allegation.
- Know how to respond should a child make an allegation.
- Know how and who to report any concerns to (Report it).
