Coronavirus staff update - 2 July 2020

Update on average pay calculations.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, a council decision was made that no employee would receive a financial detriment as a result of this pandemic.  This was established to deal with the immediate and urgent need to support employees in potential financial hardship who are unable to work due to operational and /or shielding requirements.

As more services are returning to normal business, the pay average calculation which affected pay in April, May and June will not be taking place for future pay-runs.

However, to continue to support those who are unable to return to work due to shielding/closed buildings etc and could be facing potential financial difficulty, Heads of Service/ Managers will be liaising with the Service Centre providing lists of employees who may still be affected. If you believe you are still affected you should speak to your line manager in the first instance.
