Please don't leave litter on our beaches

We're urging people who choose to visit our beaches to take their litter home with them. If you're thinking of travelling to one of our beaches during the hot weather remember the Welsh Government two-metre rules on social distancing and the five-mile rule on travel remain in place.

Business grants deadline is nearly here

We've paid out more than £48m to more than 3,800 businesses eligible for the Welsh Government business grant. However the deadline for new applications is on 30 June at 5.00pm and any qualifying business which has not applied by then will miss out.

To find out whether your business can qualify go to the website here:

Schools are getting ready for 29 June

We've produced some helpful videos to show children what they can expect to see when schools re-open next Monday.

Measures are being put in place so that all children, where possible, will be offered 'Check in, Catch up and Prepare' sessions in schools and classrooms which are being re-organised to help keep pupils and staff safe

They will only attend on the days arranged for them. This will not be a return to school and classroom education as we know it.

Parents and carers are being contacted directly by their school outlining the specific arrangement that apply to them.

Thank you for visiting the city centre

Thank you to everyone who's been visiting the city centre. Please respect one another, follow the two-metre rule and help everyone to stay safe.

Customers will see shops have made arrangements for queuing systems outside their doors to ensure social distancing is maintained while banners have gone up around the city centre to remind shoppers of the two-metre rule.

City Centre rangers have also been out and about on the streets to offer guidance to shoppers.

Please plan your journey before you travel. There's some FAQs and other information here:

Staff are being reminded that despite the easing of lockdown, the very basics of infection control and hygiene precautions still matter and still must be followed.

They remain key to prevent spread of this virus. It is even more important for our frontline staff to remember to keep to these points when they are with people outside work as well as when they are supporting others as part of their work.

While there is no specific guidance on car sharing, car journeys - including those to and from work - should also be planned and happen in line with the latest guidance for your areas. If in doubt on this, please speak to your manager.

If you or a member of your family is Covid-symptomatic you can request a test for the virus. There's more information about that here:
