Tenancy repairs

Our maintenance teams are continuing to assist council tenants with emergency home repairs during the coronavirus pandemic. We've carried out hundreds of emergency repairs, including 250 in the last week, some of them out of hours.

To request an emergency repair tenants can phone 01792 521500 (Monday-Thursday 5.00pm-8.30am and Friday 4.30pm to Monday 8.30am) or 01792 635100 (Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm). 

Other important emergency phone numbers include: Police, Fire, Ambulance - 999; Gas leaks - 0800 111999; Power failure - 0800 052 0400.

Nantong sends us PPE kit

We've taken delivery of a consignment of personal protection equipment from Nantong, a sister city in China. Goggles and facemasks were delivered to the council at the Guildhall and they'll be used by council staff in frontline roles dealing with the Covid-19 crisis. We've extended our thanks to the people of Nantong for their gesture of support.


Dogs on beaches

If you are taking your exercise on one of our beaches with your four-legged friend while the coronavirus restrictions are in place, remember the byelaw comes into effect on May 1 - restricting dog owners to certain beaches in Swansea and Gower. There are 15 beaches in Swansea where dogs are permitted all year round and a small number of beaches where dogs are not permitted.

Call centre update

Our virtual call centre has assisted more than 1,000 isolated and very vulnerable residents in Swansea who have been advised by the Chief Medical Officer Wales to shield themselves from Coronavirus for 12 weeks.
