Employee mental health and wellbeing - Coronavirus

In these times of uncertainty and high anxiety employees and managers are reminded that the stress management and counselling service is available to support the mental health and wellbeing of all employees.

Over the past week the service has made provisions to upskill the workforce and evolve the service to ensure it is able to offer employees support when needed.

The service will provide:

  • Quick easy access to telephone counselling and debrief support
  • Referrals relating to front line staff and/ or coronavirus will be prioritised with a call back within 24 hours
  • Managers can contact the service to arrange weekly mental health and wellbeing debriefs/check in's with members of their front line teams to build resilience and ensure employees are supported through the uncertain times ahead
  • Managers are reminded that all employees should receive a weekly wellbeing check and be referred into the stress management if it is noted that their mental health and wellbeing is beginning to deteriorate
  • The services is also able to offer critical incident debriefs for any employee who experiences or is witness to any traumatic incidents. Critical incident debriefs will be carried out within 24 hours of referral.
