Local development plan and strategy

The Swansea Bay Fisheries Local Action Group (SBFLAG) is an independent strategic partnership, which looks at the long term, broad-scale issues facing the Welsh coast and its inshore waters.

The aim of the SBFLAG is to maintain a strong vision going forward for Swansea Bay.

"By 2020 we want to see successful, sustainable, economically viable local fishing and associated industries, aware of its heritage, and well equipped to meet current and future challenges."

Established in 2012, the SBFLAG includes members of the public, charity and private sectors including local authorities, fishing representatives, commercial businesses, environmental, recreational, historical, maritime, business and tourism sectors.

The Swansea Bay FLAG has a core team hosted by Swansea Council, based at Civic Centre, Swansea. The SBFLAG Animateur works with the FLAG members to deliver projects and distribute relevant and up to date information.
