Lifelong Learning - Digital photography for beginners

This hands-on workshop is an introduction to digital photography and will help students understand their equipment and basic camera functions.

This course will suit students who are new to digital photography and those who have some basic knowledge, and would like to gain new skills to improve their photographs. Students will be expected to practice what they have learnt outside the classroom and will sometimes be set tasks to aid their learning.

Some key elements of the course will include:

  • Main camera modes and the menu settings.
  • How to get good exposure using auto and semi-automatic settings.
  • Composition.
  • Image analysis.
  • Uploading onto computer.
  • Saving to memory stick.
  • Lenses.
  • Zoom or wide angle.
  • Macro (close up) photography.
  • Field trips.

This class will suit you if you want to learn:

  • How to use your camera's main functions.
  • How to compose a good photograph.
  • Get out and about on a field trip.

Suitable for: Beginners and absolute beginners.

Duration: 10 weeks.

Course fee: £69 full fee / £48 concessionary fee.
