Lifelong Learning - PC beginners stage (S3)

A 10 week course aimed at increasing the skills of IT learners who have a general understanding with some experience of computers and their uses.

This course will continue to enhance your confidence in successfully using computers to benefit you and your interests. You will develop a better understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications with their various features, particularly copying, pasting, formatting, editing and printing. Refresh your internet browsing and internet security skills while exploring the benefits and opportunities of social networking. You will also be able to develop further your skills and understanding on PC security, backing up files and the Windows task bar.

Some key elements of the course include:

  • PC and internet security.
  • Digital responsibility and online safety.
  • Working with MS applications.
  • Backing up and organising your files.

Suitable for: This course is a follow on from PC beginners stage 2 (S2) and will help students develop a better understanding to use their computers more confidently.

Duration: 10 weeks.

Course fee: No charge.

What you will need

Computers will be available for the course. All resources for printing will be provided. You will need a memory stick. A notebook and pen will be helpful for recording notes.
