Bake-off star supporting Swansea St David's Day celebrations

BAKE-OFF star and bread lion king Paul Jagger is set to be a star of the show on March 3 in Swansea city centre for one of the biggest-ever St David's Day celebrations.

Paul Jagger - Croeso Food & Drink Fest

Paul made Great British Bake-Off history when judge Paul Hollywood described his lion creation the best thing he'd ever seen made from bread.

Paul went on to win last December's Great British Bake-Off Christmas special and now he'll be showing off and sharing his skills on the streets of the city centre as part of the three-day Croeso festival.

Paul said: "It'll be great to be in my home city for a food festival celebrating St David's Day. I'll be coming up with a few quick and easy ideas for people wanting to add a Welsh flavour to their cooking as well as demonstrating a few foodie ideas of my own.

"Since Bake Off, things have really gone brilliantly. I'm still a prison governor but I'm also taking part in shows, events and workshops up and down the country with a mission to prove that we can all have fun with baking. The only ingredients you need are a willingness to give it a go and sprinkling of imagination."

Paul will be giving an insight into his baking skills on March 3 which is the final day of the three day Croeso event organised by Swansea Council. Imran Nathoo a quarterfinalist from Masterchef last year will also be cooking a Welsh themed dish for visitors to sample.

Also on the Saturday the celebrations culminate in a celebration of all things Welsh with a 'Pared Dewi' - a St David's Day parade like Swansea has never seen before - taking centre stage around the city centre from 2.30pm with an unforgettable show of music, movement and dance.
