Apply for a dog breeders licence

Use our online form to apply for dog breeding establishment licence.

You must complete the application form in full.  You will need to pay the application fee when you submit your form.  There will be a fee to pay for the vets visit if one takes place.

    1. Please estimate the maximum number of puppies that may be present at your premises at any one time.

    1. In order to determine your staff to dog ratio as required by the Regulations please indicate the total number of employees or people who help at your establishment (you should also include yourself in this calculation).
    2. Please provide details of staff members, including their full name and state whether they are employed on a full time or part time basis.

      Note: Full time is at least 37 hours per week. Part time is between 18.5 and 37 hours per week.

    1. Please ensure you upload the following documents with your application:

      • A completed Enhancement and Enrichment Programme and a Socialisation Programme.

      • A written health and welfare report from your veterinary surgeon detailing the dogs (stud dog and breeding bitches) that were inspected.

      • A plan of your premises.

      The Regulations state that your licence will not be approved without satisfactory programmes.
  10. 7. Declaration
    1. • I am the occupier of the premises detailed above, and hereby make application in pursuance of the provisions of Section 13(1) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006, for a licence to keep a Breeding Establishment for Dogs at the premises of which particulars are given above.

      • I do hereby certify that to the best of my knowledge and belief, the above particulars are true and that I am over 18 years of age.

      • I enclose herewith the sum of £131.00 being the amount of the fee payable on the Licence applied for (excluding veterinary fee).
