Origin / Habitat: Mangroves and mudflats of east Africa and Madagascar

Size: Up to 9 Inches

Lifespan: Up to 5 years

Diet: Insects, molluscs and crustaceans

  • They do not have lungs, so they breathe through their skin and gills
  • To move around above the water, they use their pectoral and pelvic fins to push their bodies along
